We arrived back in Toronto on Monday and we decided to book back into the hostel for another couple of days. The luxary of having of our private room was now over so we dormed it with 4 other girls.
We then spent the next few days, checking emails, taking calls, walking streets, catching subways and street cars in the search for a place to live. As you can imagine it was all proving to be a bit stressful as when your not sure of streets, area's, transport etc. but eh we were getting there slowly but surely!
Just as we were starting to give up hope, Mary saw a notice up in the hostel advertising a loft room and 2 bedrooms in a large house. We went to view it as soon as we could and by Thursday evening, we handed over a deposit and had smiles going from one ear to the other! IT's in an area called Chester, which is like 3 stops from city centre toronto and its lovely.. all parks, shops, restaurants and pubs around so we're well delighted!! Theres 2 guys from galway, a guy from Oz and a couple from cork and kildare living in the house already, so myself and mary decided to take the loft room, so much space up there so its great.
Friday night then to celebrate us finding our new home, we headed to NBA game in Air Canada stadium. Toronto Raptures against the New York Nicks! It was cool now, def something different. Raptures won and in between time outs, end of 1/4's etc, they had plenty of entertainment. Lads def were in the element, with the entertainment majority of the time been the cheer leaders doing their thing!
So I couldn't get served in the stadium cause I didn't have ID with me at the time, but it was gas, the girls I was with showed their passports, driving licenses etc and they had a little booklet out to confirm if they were correct or not!! Madness I tells you!!
Saturday evening then we moved into our new home all delighted with ourselves and that night, housemates took us out to the nearest local for a few sociables!!
